WHO IS ASIAA RENAE?

ASIAA RENAE:
shes head strong, eclectic, futuristic, and adventures

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE A MUSIC CAREER?

ASIAA RENAE:
The passing of my mother and father inspired me the most. I figured someone out there is going through or has gone through the same things i am. I know someone will relate to my pain. Music helped me coup with not having them around to guide and love me.

AS A ENTERTAINER OR YOU INTIMIDATED BY THE PRESSURE AND EXPECTATIONS OF THE MUSIC WORLD?

ASIAA RENAE :
Just a little. I look at how all the leading ladys are being judge like Rhianna and Beyonce on there weight and they way they dress and the way they deal with the lies spread across the internet. There just trying to make good music and live life at the same time. Its a cruel indistry but someones got to make the music we love to dance and sing to.

WHAT IS A STUDIO SESSION WITH ASIAA RENAE LIKE?

ASIAA RENAE :
First and For most very professional. I like to get in the studio and get straight to work i don't waste time. If I'm previewing a beat it has played at high volume. If I'm writing a song i need silence and favorite dre beat head phones. When it comes time for recording a track i record in the dark.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND OTHER FEMALE R&B ARTIST?

ASIAA RENAE:
I have so much to say but i dont limit myself to one genre. I listen to all kinds of music. I feel as though i have a broad sound.

WHAT HAS BEEN A DEFINING MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR?

ASIAA RENAE:
I would say signing with MLB (Major League). They support me so much. There my biggest fans and not just because im signed to them. When ever something needs handled my CEO's Troy and King gets it done with a quickness. Its like everyone on the label is a family. We Grind together we Shine together.

IF YOU COULD SAY SOMETHING TO UPCOMING FEMALE ARTIST WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM?

ASIAA RENAE:
Don't get discourage by the frauds you may come across. Not everyone has your best interest in the music industry. They will try to break you piece by piece but you have to be tough as nails and never let them see you break a sweat.

 ANY FINAL WORDS, SHOUT OUTS?

ASIAA RENAE :
Shout Out to my team Major League, God, and everyone who has supported me and encouraged me to peruse my dream and never give up.

WELL I HAVE TO SAY MISS ASIAA RENAE IT WAS A PLEASURE INTERVIEWING YOU AND I HOPE YOUR CAREER TAKES OFF....

ASIAA RENAE :
Thank you i appreciate you taking the time out to recognize the talent in pittsburgh.

HIP-HOP SPOTLIGHT

                                                                   THE WAVE

The Wave - a strong current or force that is repetitive; a transfer of energy that does not stop, any surging or progressing movement.
a swell, surge or rush, as of feeling or of a certain condition.

What started out as two individuals, two different worlds, somehow became "The Wave", a rap duo hailing from Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Wave is a new, fresh, group who are creating new sounds and creativity to the music world we know. The Wave consist of members Hozay Wavy and WavinLane, determined to get their message out through their new EP "Seven Days". The two have been working non stop to give listeners something worth paying attention to. Creating their own sound and driven to leave a mark, they are the ones to watch out for.
William Moore aka Hozay Wavy was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina relocating to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when he was thirteen years old with his mother and younger brother. He began rapping at the age of sixteen, recording songs on cassettes as a hobby. Hozay Wavy started to experiment with his peers, trying to get different opinions, and ideas to keep his music in quote “FRESH”. He decided to pursue a music career at nineteen when he heard one of his tracks in a local club, and had no prior knowledge of the record being played. “It was a surreal experience to hear one of my songs being played without me knowing. People were really feeling my music”. Hozay Wavy laughs. The other half of The Wave, Derrick Lane aka WavinLane was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a native of the Hill District, where he began making beats at the age sixteen. In WavinLane's high school years, he developed his talent as a producer making beats in class, and selling them to local artists, from that point on he decided to pursue a career in music and take it more serious. “We make organic music, I consider myself as a Hip-Hop visionary.” WavinLane says.
The two met while working with a local dj in 2011, who was trying to make a independent label. WavinLane was introduced to Hozay Wavy as an in house producer. They immediately had chemistry; they worked on a variety of songs, expressing to each other aspirations of becoming Hip-Hop artist in the music industry. While working with the Dj, WavinLane augmented his lyrics along with his production, while Hozay focused on the engineering aspect of their music. The two at the label didn't last very long. “We felt like we couldn't have any artistic freedom. It was like what the Dj says goes, because it was his stu.” hozay said. Hozay and WavinLane decided to part ways with the label and make their own group called "The Wave". As a group, it made The two more unified and driven to get their music out. This change made them more self-reliant. Hard work plus determination can only lead to success. The Wave knew it was up from there.

The Wave have been currently working on their first release, an EP titled, "Seven Days" due for release Spring 2013. "Seven days gives you different reflections on life, emotions, We as people go through everyday, seven days a week. We wanted to relate to our crowd, give them something slightly different than whats being played now. We want to reach everyone with this album so it's pretty much something on it for everyone." The Wave says. "Seven Days" delivers catchy hooks, unforgettable production, and well written verses that will have listeners wanting more. The Wave are in the process of booking shows in different states, opening for related acts, and expanding their fan base. "We're ready" the group said. "We have been waiting for our time and we know our time is now".
The first single off the anticipated EP is "Feelin Famous". Hozay explains the song is about receiving love from fans, and all the great feedback the group has gotten so far from the release of other works, he said "we created a movement and i'm like i'm starting to feel famous." and that's how the song came about. The video for "Feelin Famous" will also premiere following the release.

SO WHAT OR WHO INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE A MUSIC CAREER?

THE WAVE:
Hip Hop culture has really been the main influence, The lifestyle of going to the studio and coming up with incredible music and be apart a rich culture with so much history that will be forever remembered.

WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR PITTSBURGH ARTIST TO REALIZE COMING TOGETHER RATHER THEN FEUDING WILL TAKE US TO THE NEXT LEVEL KIND OF LIKE ATLANTA?

THE WAVE:
It would take originality musically and as a social entity, To be the next Wiz or Mac is like a barrier for the personality of the artists on our city... if more collabs (artists and production wise) occur it would open up Pittsburgh economically for artists.

WHO WOULD BE YOUR DREAM TOUR COLLABORATION?

THE WAVE:
We wouldve really liked to do a song with Aaliyah. Her voice so heavenly it would been a perfect fit for The Wave and where we are at musically today.

BEING AN ENTERTAINER ARE YOU INTIMIDATED BY THE EXPECTATION'S FROM LABEL'S AND FANS?

THE WAVE:
No, that's the best thing about it. Seeing a bar set for you by someone else is really the motivation for you to excel at any career field not just entertainment. The only thing that should be intimidating is expectations set by ones self but even in that since intimidation shouldnt be a factor when your dealing with a dream.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR MUSIC IN 5 YEAR'S ?

THE WAVE:
We would like to see music being our door into the world. Becoming a music icon is at the top of the list but to be socially iconic is the long term goal. Because at the end of the day The Wave is more than music. We wish to be a premier face for the culture.

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL UPCOMING ARTIST TRYING TO PURSUE A MUSIC CAREER ALSO?

THE WAVE:
Utilize your ability to express yourself. Music need more personality. Personality through music creates longevity. Longevity is key. It equals success.

 ANY SHOUTOUTS OR SPECIAL THANK'S?

S/O to you we really appreciate the opportunity to let people know who we are. Our manager Ericka at Twenty7Fourteen Entertainment, CameraLoop, Jordan Beckham and the Antuks Movement, MGeezy Productionz, Infamouz Instrumentalz, our family and everybody on that Wave we appreciate the love.

HIP-HOP SPOTLIGHT

                                                           YOUNG ROYAL

Young Royal has been evolving his gift of rapping ever since he started around the age of four. Born Lewis Craig McDonald Jr. in the Hill District of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Young Royal's main inspiration came from his father. His Father was a talented local MC in Pittsburgh and passed over his gift to Young Royal. He also became influenced by rappers Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G, KRS-One, Kanye West, J.Cole, Wale and a long list of other talented Musicians. When Royal was four years old, his father recorded him on a tape recorder saying words and putting them together in a poetic form, after that he knew his son was destined to be a great MC. As time went on Young Royal quickly developed his skills. He wrote his first official rap when he was seven years old and started rapping it for his peers in elementary school. Once Royal set in his mind that rap was what he wanted to do, he quickly began taking it seriously. He wrote his first real song when he was eight and named it "Hot Ride". Later on, he and his cousin Cocaine Keeton formed a group. As time went on, they added two more additions to the group, Grimey and Keisha. The group name became Dream Squad and they began recording songs together on a computer with a microphone. As they got older, the group went their separate ways but remained in close contact with each other. Cocaine Keeton and Grimey decided to focus more on producing while Royal remained focused on rapping. Once Royal hit high school, he was already a very fierce MC but he realized he had a lot of competition. He began battling other MC's to show he was the best. To this day, his record remains flawless. Time passed and Royal realized he had to start developing a fan base by recording songs. His dad purchased him studio equipment and Royal took full advantage. He began recording songs and spreading them to his friends. Once people saw how talented he was, his fan base grew. Now at 21 years old, Royal is very grateful for the support he receives. “As an Hip-hop artist it's hard to make it big in Pittsburgh but thanks to great influences such as Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller, I am hoping to secure my spot on the throne as one of the Hottest Young MC's to ever bless the microphone.
FIRST QUESTION, WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE A MUSIC CAREER?
Young Royal: my main inspiration came from my father, at a young age he introduced me to hip-hop and helped me understand the culture. He would always play, KRS-One, Rakim, Ice-Cube...just to name a few! When I was four years old he recorded me on a tape player saying words on a microphone, of course i wasn't rhyming or anything but just the fact I was on the mic at such a young age made it clear that this is what I should be doing! I picked up the violin in 3rd grade and played all the way through high-school, so it's not just Hip-Hop I've been around MUSIC my whole life!

FIRST QUESTION, WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE A MUSIC CAREER?

YOUNG ROYAL:
my main inspiration came from my father, at a young age he introduced me to hip-hop and helped me understand the culture.

IN ONE WORD DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF RAP, THEN TELL US WHY  IT FITS YOU?

YOUNG ROYAL:
I honestly don't have a certain style when it comes to my music, i don't like to categorize myself as a "rapper".  I honestly don't even like calling myself a rapper.  I consider myself an Artist!  I feel like when you call yourself a "rapper" your limiting yourself to a certain group or type of people, whereas an Artist can touch anybody and everybody! But, if I had to put a certain stamp on it, I would label my music as REAL because everything I do comes from my heart and when its from your heart its REAL!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE A SESSION WITH YOUNG ROYAL RATHER JAMMING OUT ON STAGE OR IN THE STUDIO?

YOUNG ROYAL:
a session with me can vary depending on the mood or how i feel.  Sometimes it can be like the movie "The Hangover" because it's like i'm putting all the pieces together as i go!  lol BUT usually i always go into the studio ready to work!  I like to keep positive people and vibes around me, a lot of love, a lot of energy, leave the door cracked so God can creep through and I go to work! Everytime i got into the booth I like to do at least 3-4 songs a session...I GRIND! lol...as far as performing goes, the stage is my home, that's where i'm most comfortable I been performing since I was like 7!  I was involved in theater in elementary school so i'm no stranger to the lights, the stage, the crowd, the feeling...I love to give the people a show! something they can remember forever. something amazing.

IN THE FUTURE WHEN PEOPLE SPEAK ON HIP HOP AND YOUR IN THE MIX, WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WOULD WANT THEM TO SAY?

YOUNG ROYAL:
"He changed my life", "He inspired me", "He changed the world"...these are just a select few of things I would want people to say about me when its all said and done.  I make my music for the people! its totally selfless!   My goal with my music is to change the world!  Tupac Shakur is my all-time favorite artist, he said "I'm not saying i'm gonna rule the world, or i'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee I will spark the brain that will change the world!"...I believe that me and the people around me are meant to be that brain that can change the world!  I wanna touch people's lives and have an impact on the world.  I always said I could do a show in front of 10,000 people, 9,999 of those people could walk away with nothing...but if i'm able to get 1 person to walk away with something i'll be happy!  The spoken word is the power of the universe so us as artist need to use that power to make a positive difference and change the world for the better!

LAST QUESTION, WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WOULD WANT TO TELL ARTIST WHO ARE REACHING FOR A SPOT IN THE MUSIC WORLD?

YOUNG ROYAL:
Stay hungry, stay humble, always remember you have the power to change the world, change it for the better!

WELL I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS A PLEASURE AND WE APPRECIATE YOUR TIME...

 YOUNG ROYAL:
No thank you guys for having me! I appreciate it!!!

                                                                   CAESAR

Name: Tyreq Black.
Raised: in Homewood, the inner city of Pittsburgh.
Age: 18

Musical Influences: Drake, J Cole, Wale, Meek Mill, Lil Wayne Jay Z, Kanye West
Favorite Genre (s): Hip Hop, Old School, RnB
Occupation: Full Time student at Slippery Rock University

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE MUSIC WAS YOUR CALLING?

Caesar: I was about 7 years old, living in homewood. This kid, everyone called him Lil D. He taught me how to rap. Even til this day i can remember most of the lyrics he taught me to recite in front of his friends. I felt on top of the world when they applauded, ooe'd, and awe'd. Later that year, I found out Lil D was murdered in Homewood. so I kind of promised myself to keep spitting in memory of him. Now I just incorporate life lessons, emotions, family, and friends into my lyrics.

Caesar: As an artist, I feel like I am King. Thats why my MC name is Caesar. I want to be King For Life. I strive to be recognized as the best. I have love for my city, so when I make it out I intend to put other artists on that I feel deserve recognition. I was raised from nothing. Quite frankly, I still have nothing. However, I plan to change that dramatically.

WHAT ABOUT YOU STANDS OUT FROM OTHER PITTSBURGH ARTIST?

Caesar: I have a wider ranged vocabulary. I am more of a creative and inspirational thinker. With that being said, I can spit something that most rappers will never think about. Because it comes from my heart, mind, and soul..

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME?

Caesar:My favorite album of all time. Sheesh thats a hard one. However, i like My beautiful dark twisted fantasy by Kanye. He really broadened the expectations of artists today because of his great production and videography abilities.

TODAY'S MUSIC IS ABOUT COLLABORATION WHAT "HOT" RAPPER OUT NOW, YOU WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH ON A PROJECT?

Caesar: If we are referring to industry rappers, definitely Drake. He kills everything he gets on. Also i wouldnt mind learning a few things from a vet . If we're talking about locals: Shad Black. He's nice.
I like his flow .

ANY SHOUT OUT'S?

Caesar: Shout out to God, my friends and family, and Pittsburgh for teaching me all those well needed lessons ..

WELL I HAVE TO SAY THANKS FOR YOUR TIME...

Caesar: No problem.

Corielle "Light Brite" Staples or simply Corey, is an aspiring model out of Pittsburgh,pa.Growing up she always felt modeling was going to be her career of choice. Some may ask how? Well with a keen eye for fashion like Corielle's, she would step into the modeling world with a slight advantage. As she got older she became more in-tune with her unique style of dress while her ability's on the runway begin to show at talent shows,an plenty of competitions. To her matching clothes does not phase her, fashion is more about being yourself. Having the ability to express your self through outfits for her is like a pen and pad to a rapper. So if your looking to connect with a beautiful, unique, and dedicated up and coming model then look no further, YOU FOUND HER!!!

WHAT IS IT ABOUT YOU THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER MODELS?

CoreyEveryone is different, nobody is the same, i bring something totally different to the table I'm not just a Fashion or Runway model i have the ability to be that Model that's on TV shows, Movies etc etc I have many talents, lets just say I'm not a limited model.

MOST FEMALES WHO SEEM AS SOPHISTICATED AS YOURSELF WOULD GO FOR A DEGREE OR SOMETHING WHY MODELING?

Corey
That's funny you ask because just like playing any sport in school and that being a hobby, modeling is my hobby now don't get me wrong i love to model and everything but i still and this is with everyone, their still has to be a moment when you sit back and tell yourself you need a back up plan if modeling wouldn't work exactly the way i would want it to ill still have School and what in going to fall back on and I'm actually starting school in a few months because like i said you have to have a back up plan.

WHO IS IT THAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST TO PURSUE MODELING?

CoreyI actually don't have any who inspired me to want to pursue Modeling i just really love fashion and Modeling is a way for me to be able to show it off, but a person who i think is really good at what she does is Tyra Banks, she seems like a really down to earth person.

WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT PEOPLE TO BE ABLE TO SAY WHEN YOUR NAME IS MENTIONED AMONG SOME OF THE BEST MODEL'S?

CoreyI would just want them to be able to think & speak positive things about me because im a really positive person i bring positive energy, I'm very down to earth and I'm a real cool person so honestly when my name comes up nothing negative should ever be said.

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL ANY YOUNG LADY'S ASPIRING TO BE A MODEL?

CoreyJust go for it, anything possible just always always always have a back up plan.

I AM HIP-HOP

HIP-HOP!!!!!, What is it really? Were do we actually stand when it comes to portraying an image of what has really become a lost art. They say it's a generational change not willing to accept it was more so guided by drugs, money and irrational ideas that living such a lavish life is the key to freedom, With know one realizing we just became a slave to pursuing those ideals. To better man it has to start with one bettering ones self, but how can we even accomplish such a task when being misguided by today's media. This is not a article preaching black power its the black man being corrupted by the white man.Back in the day the white man had a reason to destroy the black man because we were becoming mentally and financially powerful. Now it has gotten to the point were only thing they have to do is watch us destroy ourselves, and the biggest fact of matter "BLACKS" are not the only ones going through it that is just the only thing we see. There is a shadowy mist over the reality we actually exist in. That's why people have to understand HIP-HOP!!! It is not just a idea, lifestyle, sound etc. It is movement, soul,an internal feeling that last eternity, it is euphoric in nature describing a culture as a whole leaving specs of understanding for outsiders trying to deplete it as a conquering genre. So what am I,I am hip-hop. As a matter of fact "WE ARE HIP-HOP!!!!"

PRODUCER SPOTLIGHT

                               INFAMOUZ INSTRUMENTALZ

Infamouz Instrumentalz is a Native of Pittsburgh PA. and has been on the music scene for about 8 years now. Starting his musical career off by becoming a local Dj gave him the inspiration to compose music.  Infamouz is well known for his versatility and ability to blend multiple genres of music together. Today Infamouz separates himself from the mainstream sound and continues to rise above the usual music you hear on the radio and TV. Now he has created his own genre of music which he has named "#ambientmoodmusic" which is instrumental music that pours out different feelings and emotions that can touch the soul of the listener.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT MUSIC THAT GAVE YOU THE MOTIVATION TO PURSUE IT SO PASSIONATELY?

INFAMOUZ:
Being surrounded by different sounds growing up, I use to love making weird noises with my mouth as well as beating on the lunch tables back in school. My mother also played some good tunes while I was growing up Anita baker, Atlantic Starr, Toni Braxton just a lot r&b and soul

OK DEFINITELY CAN RELATE ON MANY LEVELS
WHAT IS IT THAT STANDS OUT ABOUT INFAMOUS THOUGH? BECAUSE THERE'S PLENTY WHO COME FROM THE SAME BACKGROUND BUT WHY SHOULD YOU BE CHOSEN OVER OTHER PRODUCERS OUT HERE?
INFAMOUZ:
I feel as though I stand out because I don't limit myself to one genre or sound I guess you can say. My sound comes from my heart each beat is just a different emotion. I like to call it #moodmusic
A lot of beat makers/producers I hear all sound like they are sharing the same sounds. Why not sound like your OWN SELF?

I HAD THE PLEASURE LISTENING TO SOME OF YOU WORK AND MAN I HAVE TO SAY THE DEFINITION AND TITLE YOU JUST USED FOR YOUR STYLE AND CREATIVITY IS ASTOUNDINGLY ON POINT I CAN'T HELP BUT TO WRITE A SIXTEEN LOL
INFAMOUZ:
LOL

WHEN THE TIME COMES FOR YOU TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR YOUR LEVEL OF INFLUENCE IN THE MUSIC WORLD WHAT WOULD YOU WANT PEOPLE TO SAY ABOUT INFAMOUZ?
INFAMOUZ:
To be honest I totally just want to be remembered what people mention their favorite producer I want to be in the mix

SO WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BEAT YOU CREATED?
INFAMOUZ:
What was the title?

YEAH AND GIVE ME AN IDEA OF WHAT GOT YOU AIMING FOR W.E RHYTHM MELODY ETC THAT YOU USED
INFAMOUZ:
Lol that might be kinda hard to explain but I had a simple ass drum pattern I remember I used a Neptune drumkit followed by a 1 fingered string melody that just consist of 2 notes lol
I was highly influenced by The Neptune's so I remember trying to make something with a heavy kick drum and sharp crispy snare drum.

WELL AS ARTIST WE SHOULD HAVE A GOOD ENOUGH IMAGINATION TO DIG DEEP A GET AN IDEA OF IT LOL
LAST QUESTION,IF YOU HAD A CHANCE TO SPEAK TO THE UPCOMING ARTIST,DJ's,PRODUCERS WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
INFAMOUZ:
Don't be just like your influence be better than your influence.

SOME WISE WORDS, WELL I HAVE TO THANK YOU INFAMOUZ AND SAY IT WAS GREAT INTERVIEWING YOU AND I FEEL PEOPLE NEED TO CONNECT WITH YOU ASAP BECAUSE YOUR POTENTIAL IS LIMITLESS AND IF THEY DO NOT TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY OF JUMPING ON THAT FAN WAGON THEY WILL BE LOSING OUT
INFAMOUZ:
Thanks man I appreciate all the support. #salute

Keepin It 700 radio isn't just Pittsburgh. We are global and in Pittsburgh, my top 5 are:
1. Kpound- because he is ready
2. Big Bonk- I have been a fan for a long time and he is ready
3. J-Pad da Juggernaut- all around great artist and producer
4. Big H.A.W.G.G- animal in the booth
5. Myself- because this game needs me to stand up for the females in the city, these chicks are playin around

If you could see one change in the world for the next generation, what would you hope it to be?
JOELLE:
Ctfu no offense but these kids are doomed but I would want them to read more, educate themselves on what they want and the world wants. Life is already hard enough but with knowledge it makes it a little easier. Also, listen to these elders cuz they have lived it, something might have been called a different name but it still is the same.

LAST QUESTION, IF YOU HAD A CHANCE TO SPEAK TO LOCAL ARTIST ALL OVER WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM?
JOELLE:
First, support Keepin It 700 radio, I to to get to know all my artists. Lol that was selfish but I'm serious. Umm Support is key, if all you do is post links on fb and dont go to these shows or listen to your peers music, you won't make it. What if the internet crashed right nw? Live your life like that. Also, radio can help you, so can djs so please treat us accordingly. Be humble because someone can make you or break you. I don't condone kissing ass but know who your allies are and get your life together. Your friends and family will not tell you if you suck, so have someone you don't know listen to your music. I have so much more to say but that's the jist lol oh and try to make music that means something

WELL I APPRECIATE YOUR TIME HOPEFULLY PEOPLE CAN CONNECT WITH YOU MORE IN THE FUTURE BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE YOU HAVE ALOT TO OFFER THE GAME.
JOELLE:
Thanks so much for the opportunity to be heard
